Town Committee & Commission Recruitment 

The Atherton Transportation Committee has one vacancy for a term that expires 6/2023. The Transportation Committee meets the 2nd Tuesday every other month at 6:00 PM. 

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee has one vacancy for a term that expires 6/2023. The BPAC meets as needed on the 4th Tuesday every other month at 4:00 PM.  

The Environmental Programs Committee has one vacancy for a term expiring on 6/2023. The EPC meets on the 3rd Thursday of every other month at 1:00 PM. 

The Parks and Recreation Committee has one vacancy for a term expiring on June 2021. P&R meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. This member must also be a member of the Holbrook-Palmer Park Foundation.

Sustainable San Mateo County

22nd Annual Awards Celebration - May 14, 2021 

Sustainable San Mateo County (SSMC) will honor four local sustainability champions, San Mateo Deputy Mayor Rick Bonilla, The HEAL Project, Service by Medallion and former SSMC Board Chair Bryan Chen, at its 22nd Annual Awards Celebration on Friday, May 14, at 5:30 - 6:30 PM for their contributions to sustainability in San Mateo County.

SSMC and the American Institute of Architects’ San Mateo County Chapter will present the Green Building Award to Sacred Heart Schools’ William V. Campbell Academic and Arts Center in Atherton.

SSMC’s Second Annual Virtual Auction will kick off on Friday, April 30, and conclude after the Awards Celebration on May 14. All bids are silent. Proceeds will benefit SSMC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to accelerating sustainability in San Mateo County.

Community E-Waste, Paper Shredding, Compost Giveaway 2021 

The Town of Atherton will be hosting a free recycling event on Saturday, April 17th from 10 AM to 1:00 PM at Holbrook-Palmer Park at 150 Watkins Avenue. Acceptable E-Waste items include: TVs, computers, printers, monitors, laptops, cables/cords, cell phones, MP3 and DVD players, and more (working or not).
