The City Council will hold a Study Session on Wednesday, June 2nd at 4PM 28. This will be the last meeting to review the budget before Council is set to vote to approve the FY21-22 at the next Regular meeting June. To view the agenda visit: City Council Agenda

Memorial Day 2021

Closed on Monday, May 31st Memorial Day


Town Hall/Contract Post Office/Permit Center will be closed on Monday, May 31st in observance of Memorial Day. The Atherton Police Department will not be affected by this closure and are available 24/7. Regular office hours will resume Tuesday, June 1st.  For the non-emergency line, please call 650-688-6500. 


Memorial Day Weekend Saftey Tips:


Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) prepared a press release to share safety steps that residents can take to have fun and stay fire safe this Memorial Day Weekend. 

For people enjoying time outdoors, PG&E offers the follow tips to play safe; 
  • Only build campfires when and where authorized, and put them completely out; use plenty of water, and stir until the coals are cool to the touch. 
  • Neve use a grill indoors including garages, overhands and canopies. 
  • With a number of beaches and lakes in its serve area, PG&E encourages the public to take appropriate safety precautions when recreating in and near water.

Join the Town in welcoming our news Police Sergeant, Michael Trudeau.  He began his new assignment this week. Sergeant Trudeau joins the Town of Atherton Police Department after over 15 years with the San Jose Police Department.  

The Town is fortunate to have Sergeant Trudeau as a part of the management team. #AthertonPoliceDepartment

Weekly Atherton "Did You Know?"


Did you know..... The Atherton Police Department (APD) tracks its response times to normal calls for service and Code 3 (emergency) using lights and sirens calls. In 2020, APD had posted a 4:33 response time to normal calls for service and 2:18 response time to Code 3 (emergency) calls. To learn more about data reported by the APD - Click Here.
