Caltrain - All Aboard

During the weekend of September 21/22 Caltrain will have free fares and events at every city along the corridor to celebrate the launch of full electrification services.

Caltrain hosted its first electrified service on August 10 with two trains introduced into regular service the following day. To learn more about the launch click here.

Mosquito and Vector Control District News

West Nile virus has been detected in a dead bird collected in Atherton. Protect yourself and your family from mosquitoes by: dumping standing water where mosquitoes can breed, reporting biting mosquitoes to the San Mateo County Mosquito and Vector Control District (650-344-8592), using an EPA-registered insect repellent when outdoors in the evening and early morning, and reporting dead birds to the West Nile virus dead bird hotline (1-877-968-2473).

Actions being taken by local authorities:

Nearby mosquito breeding sources are being checked to insure they are up-to-date on treatment
Setting additional mosquito traps in the area to check mosquito populations and for West Nile virus in local mosquitoes.
