Join us in meeting Kate Schatz and create your own Frida Kahlo-inspired self-portrait!
Kate is an author, activist, public speaker, writing teacher, and queer feminist mama who's been talking, writing, and teaching about race, gender, social justice, and equity for many years. She's the New York Times bestselling author of the "Rad Women" book series, including Rad American Women A-Z, Rad Women Worldwide, and Rad American History A-Z. Kate has traveled the country to share her books with young readers, and has visited over 200 K-12 schools, colleges, and libraries! Her presentations shine the light on marginalized women and folks who have worked hard for peace, justice, and equity.

Looking for a fun and healthy way to connect with others? Join the Atherton Library's Walking Club and explore the scenic beauty of Holbrook Palmer Park while enjoying the fresh air and good company. Walking regularly offers numerous health benefits, including improved cardiovascular health, stronger bones, better balance, enhanced mood, and increased energy levels.
This group is a great way to stay active, meet new friends, and discover the joy of walking together. Routes within the park are accessible and paced to accommodate all fitness levels. Comfortable shoes and a sense of adventure are all you need to participate!
