The Town has been working hard on renovations to its Historic Train Station. The Station will officially open as a History Museum in October 2025. We invite you to join us for a community meeting to learn more and get a sneak preview!  We will be showing the short videos “Tracks of Change” and the "Atherton Town History" video, and displaying examples of the models we will use. The model designers will be on hand to answer questions.

We hope you will join us in shaping this unique community project. Your experience and enthusiasm are vital to ensuring the museum is both authentic and inspiring. We invite all train enthusiasts, historians, modelers, and aficionados to seek your insight, ideas, and potential participation in bringing this museum to life. Whether through artifact contribution, historical knowledge, model displays, or volunteerism, your passion can help preserve and share Atherton’s rich rail legacy.

2025 Community Survey Results

Town of Atherton Residents Express Strong Satisfaction in 2025 Community Survey

The Town of Atherton is pleased to announce the results of its 2025 Community Survey, conducted by Probolsky Research. The survey reveals that an overwhelming majority of residents are highly satisfied with the quality of life in the Town and the municipal services provided by the Town.

Key Findings:

  • Quality of Life: An impressive 98% of respondents rated the overall quality of life in Atherton as “good” or “excellent.”

  • Municipal Services: 91% of residents expressed satisfaction with the overall services provided by the Town.

  • Public Safety: 93% of participants reported satisfaction with the police services, underscoring the community’s confidence in local law enforcement.

The survey, conducted from April 7 to April 29, 2025, gathered responses from 424 residents through mail, online, and telephone methods. The diverse participation ensures a comprehensive understanding of community sentiments.

Residents identified public safety, addressing housing affordability, and transportation/traffic/roads as the most pressing issues facing Atherton today. The Town is committed to addressing these concerns through strategic planning and community engagement.

Active Transportation Plan

The Town of Atherton is continuing its work on a new Active Transportation Plan. The survey and webmap  deadline was extended to June 15, so you have two more weeks to fill out the survey and tell your friends!

If you are having issues with navigating either the survey or the map, please get in touch.

The project team will be incorporating survey results and quantitative data over the summer. Potential project goals and recommendations will be posted for public consideration in the fall. We look forward to receiving input on this exciting project!

AccessAtherton - Report a Concern

The Town of Atherton launched an online and mobile application we call Access Atherton.

This tool makes it simple to report non-emergency issues from a smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.

The Town tracks these issues and provides updates as they are available and resolved. These issues are addressed during normal business hours. Access Atherton uses the SeeClickFix tool/software  (link below) to help residents request assistance with Town services or report non-emergency issues, such as potholes, graffiti, broken sidewalks, traffic signal/sign problems, tree-related issues, and more.
