Police News & Information
Chief McCulley and the Atherton Police Department released a News Flash on September 5 related to E-Bike Safety.
E-Bike Operation
E-bikes are becoming increasingly popular with students and adults alike. While they offer a convenient and environmentally friendly way to get around, they also present unique safety challenges. The Atherton Police Department will continue to see situations where riders may not be fully aware of traffic laws, helmet requirements, or the speed and handling differences between E-bikes and traditional bicycles. Atherton Officers are engaging in outreach and educational efforts to ensure that E-bike riders understand and follow the rules.
Police Chief McCulley and the APD is committed to public safety, which is their top priority.
