Keep Your Household Prepared: The Essential Atherton Resource Guide

Residents are encouraged to review and save the recently released 2025 Resource Trifold, a comprehensive guide designed to keep the community safe, connected, and informed. This "fridge-worthy" reference sheet consolidates critical town contacts and emergency protocols into one easy-to-read document. To view the full guide click here.

Here is a breakdown of the essential information contained in the attached guide:

Emergency Preparedness & Safety: The guide serves as a vital safety tool, listing key 24/7 emergency numbers for the Police Department, Menlo Park Fire Protection District, and utility providers like PG&E and CalWater . It also directs residents to sign up for critical alert systems, including:

  • SMC Alerts: For county-wide urgent warnings .
  • Genasys: To identify specific evacuation zones during fires or disasters .
  • Website Alerts: For immediate local town notifications .

Staying Connected Beyond emergencies, the flyer outlines the various ways residents can stay in the loop with Town news. It details the schedule for town publications, such as the weekly Atherton Online email blast, the monthly City Manager Blog, and the quarterly printed Athertonian newsletter . It also provides a quick reference for the Town’s official social media channels on X, Facebook, and Nextdoor .

Daily Life & Recreation: The guide is also a practical resource for everyday amenities. It includes updated hours and locations for the Atherton Contract Postal Unit and Menlo Park Post Offices . For recreation, residents can find details on Holbrook-Palmer Park rentals—including resident fee discounts—and instructions for purchasing tennis keys and booking courts .

Reporting Issues: The document highlights the AccessAtherton and SeeClickFix apps, which allow residents to easily report non-emergency concerns (such as potholes or maintenance needs) directly to the Town .

Residents are encouraged to print this document, cut out the reference sections as indicated, and keep it in an accessible location for quick use.
