Ian Maksin, Cellist, Composer and Vocalist
Internationally-recognized performer, composer and recording artist Ian Maksin will be traveling to California this month as part of his 2019 Pacific Coast tour. His tour will bring him to Menlo College for a single performance on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 7:00 PM. Menlo College invites you to join in taking advantage of this opportunity to bring music to our community.

About Ian Maksin
Russian-born Ian Maksin has gained international recognition as a cellist, composer, and recording artist. Trained at the Rinsky-Korsakov Conservatory and the Manhattan School of Music, he has held positions as the principal cellist of the New World Symphony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas, and has been mentored by Mstislav Rostropovich, Yo-Yo Ma, and other renowned cellists. In addition to being known as a classical artist, Maksin has collaborated with artists in a variety of musical genres, including jazz, blues, flamenco, rock, R&B, and world music.
