We are excited to announce that on May 15, in honor of National Peace Officers Day, we will be hosting a special Coffee with a Cop event in Atherton! This is a great opportunity for you to come together and show your appreciation for the hard work and dedication of your Atherton Department of Police Officers and professional support staff.
The event will take place on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:30 at Mademoiselle Collette’s located next to the Atherton Library. We invite you to join us for a casual and friendly gathering where you can meet and chat with our local Police Officers over a cup of coffee and gourmet French pastry. This is a great chance to get to know the men and women who serve and protect our community every day, ask questions, share concerns, or simply express your gratitude for their service.
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day. This special day is a time to recognize the bravery, sacrifice, and commitment of law enforcement officers across the country. It's also an opportunity for us to strengthen the bond between our community and our police department. By coming together in a relaxed and informal setting like Coffee with a Cop, we can build trust, foster positive relationships, and work together to make our community an even safer and more supportive place for everyone.
We hope you'll mark your calendars and join us for this special event on May 15. Let's come together as a community to celebrate and honor our local peace officers!
If you have any questions or would like more information about the event, please don't hesitate to contact Jennifer Frew at jfrew@ci.atherton.ca.us.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Steven D McCulley
Chief of Police
