Due to a high voltage downed power line on Middlefield Road, Atherton Police have shut down Middlefield Road in both directions between Oak Grove Avenue and Ravenswood. The downed wire was smoldering upon arrival and because the area is prone to flooding the closure is necessary. PG&E is en route to the scene. A newsflash will go out once the road is re-opened.
