Message from the Police Chief: Addressing Recent Residential Burglaries

Dear Residents,

I want to take a moment to address the concerns you may have regarding the recent increase in residential burglaries in our community.  I understand that this news is unsettling, and I want to assure you that the safety and security of our residents are our top priorities.

Our police department is fully aware of the situation, and we are actively working to address these incidents.  Here’s what we are doing:

Increased Patrols: We have increased patrols in the affected areas, particularly during the times when these burglaries have been occurring.  You may notice a higher police presence in your neighborhood, and we hope this provides you with some peace of mind.

Ongoing Investigations: Our detectives are working diligently to identify and apprehend those responsible.  We are following up on leads, analyzing evidence, and collaborating with neighboring jurisdictions to prevent further incidents.

Community Engagement: We believe that an informed and vigilant community is one of the best deterrents to crime.  We encourage you to report any suspicious activity to us immediately.  No detail is too small, and your information could be crucial in helping us solve these cases.

Crime Prevention Tips: We are also providing residents with tips on how to secure their homes and belongings.  Simple measures, such as locking doors and windows, using outdoor lighting, and being mindful of what’s visible through windows, can make a significant difference.   Most importantly, keep safes, jewelry, and other valuables hidden and out of your primary bedroom as this is the main target for the burglars.

Please know that we are committed to keeping our community safe.  We appreciate your cooperation and vigilance during this time.  If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to reach out to us at 650-688-6500.

Thank you for your continued support and for your partnership in helping us prevent burglaries.

Sincerely,

Steven D McCulley

Chief of Police
