Dear Community Members,
This holiday season, we had the privilege of hosting our annual "Shop with a Cop" event, at the local Target Store with kids from Encinal, Laurel, and Los Lomitas Elementary Schools. Once again, it was a heartfelt reminder of the strength and generosity of our community. Seeing the smiles on the faces of children and their families as they shopped for gifts, shared laughter, and connected with our officers was truly inspiring.
This event is about more than just holiday cheer—it's about building relationships and trust, one interaction at a time. It's an opportunity for our officers to connect with the young people in our community in a positive and meaningful way, showing them that we are here to serve, protect, and care for their futures.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to all our residents and community partners who made this event possible through your generous donations to the Atherton Police Activities League and Atherton Police Officers Association. Your support enables us to continue this cherished tradition year after year.
To the officers who participated, thank you for your compassion and dedication. Your willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty has made a long-lasting impact on the lives of these children.
As we move into the new year, let this event serve as a reminder of the good we can achieve when we come together as a community. Thank you for allowing us the honor of serving you, not just during the holidays, but every day of the year.
Wishing you a joyful and safe holiday season!
Sincerely,
Steven D McCulley
Chief of Police
