City Council Vacancy 

Term: October 2025 - November 2026

The Atherton City Council is seeking applicants to fill a vacant Council seat by appointment. The individual appointed will serve from October 2025 through November 2026, at which time the seat will be subject to election. This is a unique opportunity to serve your community, help shape local policies, and work collaboratively with fellow Councilmembers and Town staff on issues that impact Atherton’s future. The Council is seeking residents who are committed to public service, actively involved in the community, and able to work constructively in a team environment. Experience serving on a Town committee or commission, or other community service roles, is highly valued. Those interested are encouraged to apply by submitting a letter of interest with a current CV to City Clerk Anthony Suber at asuber@ci.atherton.ca.us, or by completing the Town’s online volunteer form - atherton.news/Vacancy-2025-Application (LINK). Applications or letters of interest are due by Friday, September 26 at 11 am. The Council will conduct interviews of applicants at the Study Session on October 1, 4 pm. An appointment may be made at that meeting or the Regular Meeting of October 15, 6 PM.
