The rainy season is here! The self-service sandbag station at Holbrook-Palmer Park (150 Watkins Avenue) is open to help residents prepare for wet weather. The station is located in the last parking spot between the tennis courts and the Jennings Pavilion.
Residents are welcome to fill and take sandbags for use on their properties. Supplies include sand, shovels, and empty sandbags. Please limit to five (5) sandbags per residence so materials remain available for everyone.
For best practices on how to properly fill, place, and dispose of sandbags, visit San Mateo County’s storm preparedness resources:
During heavy rainfall:
- Avoid driving through flooded roadways or around barricades.
- Stay clear of downed power lines and report them immediately to PG&E.
- Check that sump pumps and backup power generators are in working order.
- Monitor local news or alerts for weather and safety updates.
For questions, contact the Public Works Department at (650) 752-0570.
Stay safe and prepared this rainy season!
