The Atherton Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred on the 100 block of Austin Avenue between December 1st and December 8th.
The suspect(s) manipulated the property's utility meter which turned off the power. Entry was then gained by prying open a side window.
This incident is currently under investigation, and no further information is available at this time.

Keep all doors and windows locked, even when you are home.
When away, make your residence appear occupied by leaving lights on, using light timers, or running a television/radio.
Install exterior lighting.
Do not store high-value items in the master bedroom; this area is a common target for burglars.
Keep valuables well-hidden and consider using a safe that is bolted to the floor or wall.
Remove valuables from vehicles and always lock car doors.
