Subject:  Burglary Reward Program

Dear Atherton Residents,

I hope this message finds you well. As your Chief of Police, I want to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership in helping keep our community safe.

In response to recent burglary activity in our neighborhoods, the Atherton Police Department is participating in a new Burglary Reward Program to assist in our efforts to identify and apprehend those responsible.  This program is being sponsored by the San Mateo County Executive, Mike Callagy and San Mateo County Supervisor 3rd District, Ray Mueller, in cooperation with the San Mateo District Attorney’s Office.

Effective immediately, County Executive Callagy and Supervisor Mueller’s office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest and/or conviction of suspect(s) involved in the following residential burglaries that occurred in Atherton:

Case # 25-13

On 01/11/2025 between 7:38pm and 7:42pm, a residential burglary occurred on Stevick Drive in the Atherton. The unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by breaking a glass door at the rear of the residence. The unknown suspects remain at large.

Case # 25-14

On 01/11/2025 between 5:30pm and 7:45pm, a residential burglary occurred on Stevick Drive in Atherton. The unknown suspect(s) entered the residence by breaking a glass door at the rear of the residence. Approximately $20,000 in jewelry and gold and silver coins were stolen. The unknown suspect(s) are still at large.

We believe this initiative will not only encourage community involvement but also send a strong message that criminal activity will not be tolerated. Your eyes and ears are a critical extension of our department, and together, we can make a meaningful impact.

If you have any information about suspects related to these burglaries, please contact Atherton Police Detective Gina Dutta, at 650-688-6500, or at GDutta@ci.atherton.ca.us.

Thank you for your continued commitment to public safety. Together, we can ensure that Atherton remains a safe and secure place for all.

Sincerely,

Steven D McCulley

Chief of Police
