The San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) has released the Draft South County Multimodal Strategy (SCMS) for public review and comment.
The strategy identifies and prioritizes needed but underfunded transportation improvements along the Highway 101 Corridor, focusing on Redwood City, North Fair Oaks, Atherton, Menlo Park, and East Palo Alto. Developed through extensive planning, data analysis, and stakeholder input, the SCMS aims to improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance regional connectivity while supporting a more efficient and sustainable transportation system.
Community input is an important part of this process. The public comment period is open through January 16, 2026, and all feedback will be considered before the strategy is finalized. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft strategy and submit comments by the deadline.
