2025 Crack Seal and Slurry Seal Project

The Town of Atherton will begin its 2025 Crack Seal and Slurry Seal Project on Wednesday, September 24th. This essential maintenance work is part of our ongoing commitment to preserving and improving the quality of our roadways.

What to Expect:

The project will involve two key phases:

1. Crack Sealing – Crews will first apply a rubberized sealant to cracks in the pavement. This process helps prevent water intrusion and extends the life of the roadway by preparing the surface for the next phase.
2. Slurry Sealing – After crack sealing, a slurry seal will be applied. This is a mixture of asphalt emulsion, aggregate, and additives that creates a new protective surface layer. Slurry sealing helps restore the road’s appearance, improves skid resistance, and protects against further deterioration.

• Traffic Impacts: Restricted access may be necessary during operations, but we will do everything possible to accommodate your needs. Please follow posted signage and drive cautiously in work zones.
