Neighborhood Traffic Management Action Plan
The Town of Atherton initiated the Neighborhood Traffic Management Action Plan to address resident concerns about traffic-related issues throughout the Town. The plan will identify potential traffic management and calming measures and strategies to enhance safety, accessibility, and mobility, and ultimately, the quality of life of Atherton residents.
To date, we have gathered your traffic safety concerns through this project website, survey, map input, email correspondence, and two concern Listening Sessions (held on August 6 and 13, 2020).
We have developed potential mitigation measures to address various concerns and are seeking feedback regarding the same. Please visit the Potential Mitigation Measures section to learn more about each measure.
We have conducted two Potential Mitigation Measures Public Outreach Sessions (held on April 14 and 22, 2021) to collect feedback on potential mitigation measures. Visit the Past Events section to learn more. The survey to provide feedback on potential mitigation measures is now closed.
Neighborhood Division Map
To better address community needs on a neighborhood level, we have identified 5 zones. Please refer to the neighborhood division map below to identify your zone.
Potential Mitigation Measures
The project team has developed a list of potential mitigation measures based on community inputs and existing conditions (Average Daily Traffic, 85th Percentile Speed, Intersection Congestion Level, and Collision History). These measures include engineering solutions to improve safety for all mode users, implement traffic calming on residential neighborhoods and school zones, and enhance the quality of life for the Town of Atherton.
