Street Sweeping

The Town's Municipal Regional Permit with the State of California Regional Water Quality Control Board requires that we sweep all streets with curb and/or gutters on a monthly basis. About 17.03 miles of Town streets are swept monthly.

In addition, the Town sweeps another 92.97 miles of streets (those without curbs or gutters) on a quarterly basis. The time of year that the streets are swept on a quarterly basis is dependent upon conditions and varies quarter to quarter.

Typically, the frequency coincides with a sweep just prior to leaf drop (late October-November), again in December/January, a third time in February/March, and the last in April/May.

Street Lights

If you notice a streetlight that is dim, flickering, or not operating, please report it using our online service request form here. Providing the nearest address, intersection, or pole number—along with a brief description of the issue—will help our Public Works team respond quickly and ensure the safety and reliability of Atherton’s streets.
